ENEVA has committed to support culture appreciation and income generation initiatives in the regions where we operate. The Maranhão on the Screen project, focused on promoting audiovisual production
in Maranhão, was one of the projects selected in 2009 due to its relevance to the local culture scenario and its proximity to Itaqui TPP.
The initiative has been active since 2007 and encourages the emergence of new regional talent in the industry by offering free workshops
on film production and distribution. Relying on ENEVA sponsorship, the project has trained some 500 individuals in the municipalities of São Luis and Paco do Lumiar, including young residents from Vila Residencial Nova Canaã
More than 60 films produced
by workshop attendees had free screening for the general public during the Forum and Film Festival that crowned the completion of the project. About five thousand people attended the event.
