The management of natural resources used by ENEVA aims for rational and sustainable use. In 2013, ENEVA started the operation of its major power plants and dedicated special attention to operational and environmental aspects of power generation. In this first year of monitoring, the company’s goal was to select the best indicators and to prepare a consistent database for upcoming years, seeking to understand, demonstrate and improve the environmental performance of the plants. Therefore, the company adopted Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines, ABNT standards 143031:2004 (Environmental Management – Environmental Performance Evaluation – Guidelines) and HSSE Management System.

The following aspects were monitored throughout 2014:
·         Water consumption
·         Effluents generation
·         Residue generation
·         Raw material consumption
·         Power consumption
·         Environmental training hours
·         Compliance with environmental restrictions
·         Environmental events
