When the subject is renewable energy Brazil is one of the global references, and may find in solar power an excellent power generation alternative, even in urban areas. Convinced of advantages of this approach, ENEVA has implemented, in the municipality of Tauá (CE), the first commercial scale solar power plant in the Country.
Operating since August 2011, the Tauá Solar Power Plant is provided with 4,680 photovoltaic panels to change solar energy in to power, installed over an area of 12 thousand square meters. Approximately R$ 10 million were invested in the plant designed for an initial capacity of 1 MW – which is enough to supply electricity to 1,500 households. The venture has already obtained a license to gradually expand its capacity for up to 50 MW.
